WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Shannon Sharpe Ex-Girlfriend Gives First Interview Former NFL star and media personality Shannon Sharpe is facing serious accusations in a lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend, Michele Bundy Evans, who claims she was sexually assaulted and threatened by the First Take co-host during their relationship. Media Take Out obtained court documents filed in late 2023, in which Evans alleges that Sharpe committed multiple acts of sexual violence against her in September 2010, during an argument that stemmed from allegations of infidelity. The claims include disturbing descriptions of non-consensual acts and threats of retaliation if she were to come forward. Evans stated in her lawsuit that after the alleged incident, Sharpe warned her he would “ruin” her and use his connections to discredit and destroy her reputation. She described feeling fearful and isolated, particularly given Sharpe’s public stature and extensive network. As a result of what she describes as ongoing harassment, Evans sought a restraining order at the time. The order was later dropped, which she explained in an interview with The U.S. Sun, citing safety concerns for herself and her daughter after a threatening incident outside her home.
At the time of the initial restraining order filing, Sharpe was working as an analyst for CBS Sports. He issued a statement saying, “I have decided to step aside from The NFL Today until this matter is resolved,” and temporarily stepped away from his television duties. In addition to her sexual assault claims, Evans is also suing Sharpe for defamation, stating that he publicly referenced their legal disputes on television and other platforms, which she says further harmed her reputation and mental well-being. The lawsuit also includes details of Evans’ life after their breakup. She alleges that she later married another man, with whom she had a volatile relationship, resulting in a 2017 domestic violence arrest. Evans claims Sharpe submitted affidavits in that case that were “replete with falsities” and contributed to her legal challenges. Sharpe has not publicly responded to the most recent lawsuit. In the past, he has denied wrongdoing in connection with Evans’ earlier claims. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed against Sharpe in relation to these allegations.
