“She is an unstoppable record breaker” – Enioluwa Adeoluwa takes a stand for Funke Akindele against Taraji Henson

Fast-rising Nigeria influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa had taken a stand for Funke Akindele against the constant comparison with American actress Taraji P Henson.

Enioluwa took to his Instagram page to contradict the comments of people calling Funke Akindele the Nigerian version of Taraji.

While declaring love for the American actress, the influencer and model took to his micro-blogging X app to express dissatisfaction with Nigerians who compare their icons to Western figures for validation.

Adeoluwa emphatically stated that Funke Akindele is a version of herself and not anyone else because she is an unstoppable box office breaker.

“I really don’t like seeing comments calling Aunty Funke the “Nigerian version of Taraji P. Henson.” As much as I love Taraji and admire her work, I don’t understand the constant need to compare our icons to Western figures.

The comparison between Funke Akindele and Taraji P Henson is not something new to many. Their comparison in terms of versatility and face have always been engaging for netizens.

Funke Akindele has constantly proven to be a force to reckon with in the Nigerian movie industry. She presently runs the box office with her movies.

Her film Everybody Loves Jenifa, A Tribe Called Judah, Battle On Buka Street and Omo Ghetto The Saga respectively rule the box office as the highest grossing film in Nigeria and West Africa.

Last year, Funke opened up on the hard times she experienced before rising to stardom. She shared a video of herself being active on the set of her highest-grossing billion naira movie, A Trībe Called Judah.

She counted herself as a testimony of believing in herself, saying she faced different challenges but learned to stand tall and encourage others because of them.
