Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, on Saturday, attended the wedding fatiha of Ms Halima Junaid, granddaughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, and Mr Walid Muazu, son of Iyan Katagum.

Shettima was joined by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal; Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’idu Alkali; and Rep. Lawal Zannah.
While the Vice-President stood in for the bride, Halima Junaid, Alhaji Shehu Mauzu represented the groom.

Also present were Alhaji Tahir Muhammad Tahir, former Special Adviser to the President on Religious Affairs, and several prominent personalities from across the country.
After the wedding rites, Shettima visited the residence of the late President Buhari to greet his widow, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking at the residence, Shettima said President Bola Tinubu directed him to convey warm regards and assure the family of his continued support.
“I cannot come to Kaduna and go without coming to this house. May Allah grant his soul eternal rest and reward him with Aljannah, and may Allah give you the fortitude to bear the loss,” Shettima said, describing Buhari as a leader who would forever remain dear to both himself and Tinubu.
The Vice-President also used the opportunity to pay a condolence visit to the APC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Garba Datti Muhammad, over the death of his son.
Quoting Tinubu, Shettima said, “When I was informed by my boss, President Bola Tinubu, that I was going to Kaduna to attend the wedding of the granddaughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, he said it is absolutely essential that you should represent me at the wedding fatiha and, most importantly, go and pay a condolence visit to the National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the APC, who lost a son.
“On behalf of President Bola Tinubu, I want to convey our deep sympathy and condolences to our boss, our party leader, and to the governor of Kaduna State.”
