Nas In Trouble After Rapper Shyne Shares Wild Story From 1996 — “Nasty Nas Pulled Up To My High School In A Benz”

Rapper-turned-politician Shyne just dropped an old-school story that has the internet doing a double take — and this one involves none other than Nas.

During a recent interview, Shyne took fans back to 1996, when he was still a teenager in high school, long before fame and fortune — and when Nas was already a 23-year-old rap superstar fresh off his Illmatic success. What happened that year, according to Shyne, left a major impression on him — and may have inspired his very first luxury car purchase.

“Nasty Nas Pulled Up To My High School”

Shyne said that back in the day, he was crushing hard on a girl from his school — “the most beautiful girl ever,” as he described her. He used to walk her to class, carry her books, and thought he was making real progress — until one day, everything changed.

“I’m walking her to class, right? Then I see this black Benz 600 coupe pull up outside the school,” Shyne recalled. “And out the window — it’s Nas! She dropped her books, ran out, and jumped in the car.”

The moment, as he told it, left young Shyne stunned. “How was I supposed to compete with that?” he joked. “Illmatic had already dropped — he was that guy.

Fans Say the Story Is Wild — And a Little Concerning

Social media immediately lit up after the clip circulated — not just from nostalgia, but from a few raised eyebrows.

Many pointed out that Shyne was still in high school, while Nas would’ve been around 23 years old at the time. Some commenters called the story “funny but low-key problematic,” while others joked that “hip hop in the ’90s was a different era.”

Still, fans couldn’t help but laugh at Shyne’s honesty — and how he turned the experience into motivation.

The Moment That Drove Shyne

Instead of being discouraged, Shyne said the encounter fueled his determination.

“That was the first car I bought when I got my deal — a Benz coupe,” he said proudly. Years later, when he ran into the same woman at a nightclub, he made sure she saw him pull off in style.

A Classic 90s Hip-Hop Tale With a Twist

For many fans, the story captures the essence of hip-hop’s golden age — luxury cars, competition, and ambition. But it also stirred conversation about how casually some of those old stories sound when viewed through a modern lens.

Whether you find it funny, nostalgic, or eyebrow-raising, one thing’s certain: it’s a very 90s tale — a young Shyne learning the rules of the game, and Nas unknowingly becoming part of his origin story.

Nearly 30 years later, that single high school drive-by is still sparking debate — proving that “Nasty Nas” really did have the streets (and apparently the schools) on lock.
