October 2025’s additions to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, available to Extra and Premium subscribers, has just been revealed, and it includes arguably the best horror title to release last year.
Announced via a PlayStation Blog post, the Game Catalog will receive Silent Hill 2 (2024), Until Dawn (2024), V Rising, Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1, As Dusk Falls, Wizard with a Gun, and Tekken 3. Bloober Team’s remake of the classic Silent Hill 2 is a standout addition to the Game Catalog, being celebrated upon release and instantly being enshrined among the iconic series’ best entries. All of these titles become available for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on October 21.

A Reimagined Classic
Before the release of the Silent Hill 2 remake, the long-running survival horror franchise was in a rut. Bloober Team’s take was surprisingly fresh, and less than a year later, Silent Hill 2 was followed by the beautiful misery of Silent Hill f. Waiting only a year to get Silent Hill 2 for free (subscription price aside) through PlayStation Plus is a pretty great surprise in a month packed with other interesting Game Catalog additions.
The Until Dawn remake similarly revamps a horror classic, though not quite as exhaustively. V Rising is an acclaimed ARPG that honed its vampire gameplay through two years of early access. Yakuza: Like A Dragon is a turning point for the famous, quintessential JRPG franchise: its transition from longtime protagonist Kazuma Kiryu to newcomer Ichiban Kasuga.
Poppy Playtime‘s first chapter brings a different kind of horror, As Dusk Falls is previously an Xbox console exclusive that made the jump to PlayStation in March 2024, and Wizard with a Gun brings some charming twin-stick shooter action. Tekken 3 is the 1997 entry of the classic fighting series, originally releasing on the PlayStation, and will now be available to PS Plus Premium subscribers.

Horror Games Galore
Silent Hill 2, Until Dawn, and V Rising are already bringing the right atmosphere for the Halloween season, and they’re joining Alan Wake 2, one of this month’s PS Plus Essential titles. Just like Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake 2 is a must-play game for survival horror fans, and was a Game of the Year contender in 2023.
Across the service’s full slate, October is a great month for PlayStation Plus subscribers, bringing a lot of big-name titles to members. Silent Hill 2 is likely to be the big get for patient players, but a whole suite of great games are being added to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on October 21.
