It’s been a big year for Silent Hill, and fans of the franchise might have one more surprise in wait this month. After years of inactivity, Silent Hill recently spun back into action with Silent Hill: Ascension, The Short Message, the Silent Hill 2 remake, and Silent Hill f. The latter came in time for some Halloween fun this year, and Silent Hill 2 now seems poised to pop back up once more.

A November 21, 2025 Xbox release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake has now appeared on the game’s Microsoft store page, as reported by TrueAchievements. The remake launched with timed PlayStation console exclusivity, meaning those without a PS5 could only buy it on PC. Microsoft still hasn’t announced an Xbox release date in any public forum, but the page leak all but confirms an imminent release.

But No Born From A Wish

This update follows in the wake of a long breadcrumb trail leading up to the Xbox release, with minor website changes and an ESRB rating suggesting that the PS5 exclusivity period had ended. The new Microsoft Store page accessed by TrueAchievements mentions a simultaneous release of a Silent Hill 2 deluxe edition, including a digital artbook, soundtrack, and Pyramid Head pizza box cosmetic, along with a Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f bundle.

Unfortunately, the Xbox port doesn’t appear to come with a remake of the “Born from a Wish” DLC, which appeared in the Xbox port of the original Silent Hill 2. Remake developer Bloober Team is currently working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, so covering Born from a Wish may simply not be in the cards at the studio.

Silent Hill 2 was met with plenty of criticism and concern before launch, but it ended up winning over fans en masse after launching on PlayStation 5 and PC. For any who are still skeptical, the Xbox port could provide a new opportunity to check out the changes and make a decision on its merits.

Newcomers who started the series with Silent Hill f on Xbox can also jump to Silent Hill 2 without any concerns about continuity. The classic sequel is effectively a standalone story that doesn’t rely on having played the original Silent Hill.

It’s not yet clear when the next Silent Hill remake, Silent Hill: Townfall, or any other future projects will release, but the Silent Hill 2 Xbox release that seems set for a November 21 release should be a nice appetizer in the meantime.
