Single motherhood has tripled my joy – Actress Georgina Ibeh

Georgina Ibeh

Nollywood actress, filmmaker, and entrepreneur Georgina Ibeh is experiencing one of the most transformative seasons of her life. Known for her versatility and commanding presence on screen, the Imo State-born star has added a new role to her growing portfolio, motherhood.
In a recent interview, the screen diva speaks candidly about becoming a first-time mum, how the experience has reshaped her world, and why she has no regrets about her personal choices.
“She’s the best thing that has happened to me”
For Ibeh, welcoming her first child was both overwhelming and deeply fulfilling. She describes the moment her daughter arrived as “the most unforgettable” of her life.
“It was a great experience, although not an easy one,” she says with a smile. “She is my first, and I do not regret my decision to bring forth a life into the world. She’s the best thing that has happened to me in recent times. I love the fact that I was able to keep it really discreet. Seeing her come out was unforgettable. I am full of joy and gratitude to God.”
The actress admits that the arrival of her baby has changed her in ways she never expected.
“I now understand the joy of motherhood. I now know what being a mother really looks like,” she says. “Now and then, I go to look at her just to check if she’s breathing,” she adds with a laugh. “Seeing her two dimples gives me so much satisfaction because her mummy has a dimple too. She’s such a beautiful princess.”
While still adjusting to the new pace of her life, Ibeh says she is embracing the responsibility with open arms.
“My workload has tripled, and I am ready to always be there for her,” she notes. “She’s my world and I will make sure she gets the best.”
In a society where traditional expectations around marriage and childbirth still hold influence, the actress is clear about where she stands. She says having a child outside wedlock was her personal decision — one she remains proud of.
“Well, life’s too short for one to think or care about what people will say,” she asserts. “God gave me a bundle of joy — what most people would kill to have. It was solely my decision, and I loved every bit of it.”
Looking back at her journey into motherhood, Georgina Ibeh says her heart is full.
“No regrets at all. Just joy overflow.”
