Disney star Skai Jackson’s former flame, Deondre Burgin, was arrested on July 14 in connection with an alleged armed carjacking.
The 21-year-old was taken into custody outside an Ulta Beauty in Newport, Kentucky, by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and local police. The arrest stemmed from a June 30 warrant issued in Ohio, according to Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders.
Authorities allege Burgin and another suspect robbed a man at gunpoint in Cincinnati, stealing his 2018 Mercedes-Benz and a Glock handgun. Police say the victim was pistol-whipped and suffered facial injuries before being hospitalized.
The stolen vehicle was later recovered.
Burgin waived extradition and was booked in Hamilton County, Ohio, on July 17. An affidavit claims Burgin struck the victim in the head and face with a pistol during the robbery.
A man named Danzail Farrier was also arrested alongside Burgin. Farrier had been released on parole in March for a weapons offense.
The FBI declined to comment due to the ongoing investigation. This arrest is separate from an unrelated April 17 incident involving Burgin.
In May, Jackson filed for and was granted a temporary restraining order againstBurgin, the father of her son, Kasai. Jackson claimed that he was violent towards her several times, including during her pregnancy.
