Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has pledged support for Comfort Emmanson, the passenger involved in a recent altercation with Ibom Air, as well as for the state-owned airline.

Speaking during a grand reception held in his honour at Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on Saturday, the governor said both Emmanson and the airline are assets of the state and deserve support.

“The lady is our daughter. We will continue to support our flagship airline, Ibom Air. Every Akwa Ibom person should be proud of the airline which has flown our colours. Our money is invested in Ibom Air, so you should be proud of the airline,” Eno said.

Naijaonpoint reports that Emmanson, an indigene of Akwa Ibom, was remanded after her face-off with Ibom Air crew members before she was later pardoned by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.

She recently told journalists that she had been left traumatised by the incident, claiming her dignity was violated.

“I have been unable to move around and interact with people any longer as my body had been unduly exposed,” she lamented.

Governor Eno urged Akwa Ibom residents not to apportion blame to either party, describing the incident as a small mistake.

He said, “If there was any crisis, do not join issues with others who are spoilers because they don’t love good things. Whatever had transpired, we will solve the problem. Both parties belong to us. When two people fight, there is always the third person to separate the fight.”
