Idemili Elites have commended Gov Chukwuma Soludo for confirming Prof. Kate Omenugha as substantive Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu university.
The body made up professionals from Idemili North and Idemili South Local Government Areas made the commendation after their meeting in Awka-Etiti, Idemili South on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Soludo confirmed Omenugha’s appointment on Aug. 6 having been in Acting capacity since December 2023.
Chief JoeMartin Uzodike, Leader of the group who spoke to journalists on behalf of the group thanked the governor who is the Visitor to the institution by retaining the winning team.
Uzodike said Soludo had recognised the good work of Omenugha who had done well as an academic and an administrator, adding that ‘the best reward for good work is more work”.
According to him, Idemili Elites wish to thank Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for graciously confirming the appointment of one of us, Prof. Kate Omenugha as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
“The appointment was expected, it was meritorious and great development for the University and Anambra as a state, like they say, you do not change a winning team,” he said.
Idemili Elites congratulated the newly appointed Vice Chancellor and urged her to improve on the impressive records that earned her the appointment.
“We call on the Vice Chancellor to see the appointment as a call to service, be magnanimous in victory and create an atmosphere that will enable her to succeed and take the University to greater heights,” he said.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
