The government of Anambra State has dismissed security operatives under the Agunaechemba popularly known as “Operation Udo Ga Chi”.
The operatives were sacked over their involvement in the assault of a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Jennifer Edema Elohor at the Corps’ lodge in the state.
Elohor was beaten and stripped naked by the security operatives over an allegation that she was involved in some sort of internet fraud alongside her colleagues.
The security operatives’ dismissal was announced by the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Homeland Security, Prince Emeakayi.
Emeakayi while speaking on Arise Television on Tuesday said the actions of the operatives are condemnable.
He also noted that the state government is ready to provide the dismissed officials to prosecution by the police.
Emeakayi who deceived the security operatives as the “bad eggs” said their actions does not represent the patriotic and sound security commitments of members of the ad-hoc security organisation.
“The action of the security operatives are condemnable, and, as such all the operative involved in that despicable action of stripping the NYSC member naked have been disengaged from the state government’s vigilant service.
“Whenever the state police command is ready for their prosecution, as a government we will produce them,” Emeakayi said.
Recall that Politics Nigeria had reported that some members of the Operation Udo Ga Chi security organisation were captured in a video assaulting an female NYSC member in Anambra.
The operatives in the video which has gone viral were seen beating Elohor up and stripping her naked while brandishing their AK 47 riffles and putting other residents in harm’s way.
