Vanessa Okoye, the daughter of music executive and show promoter Paulo Okoye, has slammed singer Spyro over his latest interview.

Kemi Filani reported that Spyro in an interview with Echo Room, shared his ordeals while he was signed to Paulo Okoye’s record label. He claimed that he had to take a loan to take care of himself while with the label as he never made anything from the label.

He said Paulo knew of his plight and never did anything about it as he wasn’t good at running a label. Spyro, however, said that the lover of actress, Iyabo Ojo is a kind man and is good in show business but not in handling his record label affairs.

Reacting to his interview, Vanessa, her Instagram story, stated that many in the music industry are crãzy. She noted how musicians love granting unnecessary interviews the moment they gain fame.

Vanessa slammed Spyro for being so quick to bite the hand that once helped him before and prayed for God to forgive him.

“Some of you people for this music industry dey craze.

Small one hit.

You are granting interviews and talking rubbish.

The way a lot of you are so quick to bite the hand that has once helped you before.

God forgive you”.

Her father, Paulo Okoye, via his Instagram story also reacted to his interview. He debunked his claims as he shared receipts of his expenses on the singer. Okoye said he spent N12 million on Spyro and never gained a kobo from him.

This isn’t the first time, Vanessa has publicly defended her father. Last year, during his drama with social media activist Very Dark Man, Vanessa stepped in to defend him as she noted how those who disrespect her father mistake their silence for ignorance. She stated that her family is rather focused on forging a legacy of integrity and excellence and not on addressing petty remarks from those lacking visions and respect.

In other news, last year, Spyro sent a message to upcoming artists. He educated them that signing with the biggest label or artiste in the world doesn’t guarantee their success. Enlightening them, Spyro made it known that one’s talent without diligence and hard work will fail one. The “Who Is Your Guy” singer went on to admonish them to stop building castles in the air, waiting for labels/people, and start investing in themselves.
