Reactions have trailed viral photos of Peter Obi’s son, Oseloka Obi after a London-based British-Nigerian actor, Kent Okwesa, shared images of the two together.

The pictures, which many described as romantic, showed the pair in close poses, with one appearing as though they were about to kiss.

Naijaonpoint reports that Okwesa, who was celebrating his birthday this week, later deleted the photos and locked his account following backlash from social media users.

The resurfacing of these images has reignited speculation about Peter Obi’s son’s sexuality, with many alleging that he may be gay.

See reactions below:

@cassyfragrance wrote: “Someone who wants to lead Nigeria, can’t lead his family. If you can’t guide your own children, how can you expect to lead a nation?”

@KawuGarba commented: “Peter Obi’s son is gay. If he becomes president, you should guess the first law he will sign to make his son happy. We will circulate these pictures everywhere in the North and tell our people this is the son of Peter Obi who wants to be president. Peter Obi must never be president.”

@Okoro added: “If you’ve failed as a parent, you can’t succeed as a leader.”

@ChiadiNelson offered a different perspective: “Nigerians like to focus on people’s private life instead of real issues that affect us. Peter Obi’s son is an adult. His decisions are his, not his father’s. However, as a father, I wouldn’t pray for such for my own son.”

@Greatnigerian wrote: “Whether or not he is gay, Peter Obi’s son is an adult. Nigerians should focus on leadership and governance, not private lives.”

@Tundeeee said: “This controversy will be used by opponents to discredit Obi politically, but it’s unfair to attack a father for his adult children’s choices.”

@Pradaoflagos commented: “Leadership starts at home. This shows Obi might not have the discipline or guidance needed for the presidency.”
