‘Something Is Wrong’ – Bode George Knocks Wike, Fayose For Degrading PDP

Former Deputy National Chairman (South-West) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has expressed his disappointment with the open support shown by former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, towards the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fayose publicly pledged his backing for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, while Wike openly stated that he has no regrets about working for President Bola Tinubu’s victory and vowed to continue supporting him.

Speaking on Monday as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, George criticized their actions, describing them as degrading to the PDP and damaging to the party’s image among the Nigerian electorate.

“If it is true that former Governor Fayose has rejected the PDP and pledged to support the APC governor, he has made his choice clear. The party should initiate an investigation in Ekiti State before taking further action. Even Ayo knows that it’s unacceptable for a two-term governor from our party to openly work for the opposition,” George said.

Addressing Wike’s situation, George suggested that the crisis might still be resolved, but expressed his disapproval of Wike’s current actions, stating, “As an elder of the party, what he is doing is degrading the PDP in front of the electorate. We must resolve internal issues without airing them in public.”

George also criticized the APC, arguing that despite the internal challenges faced by the PDP, it remains a better option compared to the APC, which he referred to as a group of “strange bedfellows.”

“Is the APC better, even with our crisis? Their party is a collection of strange bedfellows. Ganduje can’t even manage the party. We need to rise above this pettiness and selfishness on all sides so that the PDP can realign itself,” George said.
