Son Kills Father During Money Dispute In Benue

A man in Nyamatsoo Mbagen, Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State has died after he was attacked by his son during a dispute over money.

Naijaonpoint reports that the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday when Ankyambe Tordue, said to be armed with a machete, confronted his father, Ankyambe Hembaor, after a request for money was turned down.

According to Zagazola Makama, Hembaor was taken to Agbecha Hospital in Nyamatsoo for treatment but was later confirmed dead.

Police from the Buruku Division visited the scene, recorded the incident and moved the body to the hospital mortuary.

Security agencies said the suspect fled after the attack, and efforts are ongoing to find him.

The State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the case and opened a full investigation.

In other news, an attack carried out by suspected Fulani Herdsmen have left a man injured and a house destroyed in Yelwan Ariri, Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

According to Zagazola Makama, the suspected herders were from Guri LGA, Jigawa State.

The incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday when the attackers reportedly shot Garba Yahaya, a resident of the community, with an arrow and set ablaze the house of another resident, Abba Ibrahim.

According to sources, the Deputy Chairman of Zaki LGA, Hon. Ibrahim Chiroma, alerted the Zaki Divisional Police Station immediately. Policemen were mobilized to the scene, prompting the herders to flee.
