Sony will have more 30th Anniversary PS5 units to sell tomorrow

Sony’s 30th Anniversary PS5 is the company’s ode to the PlayStation platform after three decades, and much like with the 20th Anniversary PS4, stock was incredibly limited. Getting a hold of one was never going to be an easy task for the majority of consumers who probably wanted one. Thankfully it looks like people who missed out will get another chance to secure one.

Sony will reportedly have more stock of the 30th Anniversary PS5 this week. Specifically on Tuesday, October 29. It’s unclear how much stock Sony will have of these units but you can be sure that whatever stock the company puts up for sale probably won’t last terribly long. It’s tough to say because limited edition product like this tends to sell out fast. However, it is worth noting that the slim version of the PS5 30th didn’t sell out as fast as the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary bundle. The bundle included some extras and exclusive items as well as the Pro PS5 model.

Those extras and exclusives are precisely why it was hard to get one. That and the fact that scalpers do what they always do and buy as much as they can to resell for exorbitant prices well above MSRP. An instance that caused Sony to impose PSN time restrictions for its customers in Japan.

PS5 30th Anniversary stock will be up on PlayStation Direct

If you’re still trying to get your hands on one of these limited edition PS5 units, you’re best bet is to be up early and ready to go ahead of when the product is available. Sony will begin sales promptly at 9AM Pacific Standard Time. So you probably want to be up and logged into your PlayStation account on PS Direct at least 30 minutes prior to that.

Sony will probably be placing people in a queue as well. So be prepared to be met with a page that tells you what number in line you are. This also means your number may be far enough back that you might not get the chance to purchase the console. There is a chance that other retailers will have more stock in addition to PS Direct. However, nothing is mentioned like it is on Sony’s product page which tells consumers to “check back on October 29.”

Nevertheless, checking on Best Buy shows the console as “coming soon.” So perhaps there’s a chance other retailers will have some available. At the very least, it can’t hurt to check.

Replenished stock will only be for the PS5 Slim and the DualSense

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Sony will be restocking everything from the 30th Anniversary items. There are no messages to check back on the 29th on anything except for the regular DualSense controller and the PS5 Slim. That means there are probably no more chances to get the bundle. The same goes for the PlayStation Portal as well as the DualSense Edge. Note that this is only for the limited variants. At least not directly from Sony at their regular prices.
