WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Sony posted an unboxing video for its new Xperia 1 VI where it summarizes its main improvements, and there are a lot. The Japanese tech giant is very proud of its latest mobile flagship and the company makes it quite clear. The device arrived alongside a mid-range Xperia 10 VI. The new Sony Xperia 1 VI includes notable improvements in key sections. There is a better screen, better performance, better audio, better camera, and better battery life. Starting with the screen, the company debuts a 6.5-inch BRAVIA-powered display. Sony has tuned the display so that its performance matches that of its latest BRAVIA TVs. There is also a new 19.5:9 aspect ratio for a better viewing experience through social media and video streaming platforms. This is the first Xperia phone to include an LTPO display. LTPO technology allows the panel to reach very low refresh rates. In comparison, a non-LTPO display can only jump between fixed Hz figures (typically 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz). Unfortunately, the company discarded the 4K resolution of previous generations in favor of Full HD+. While this is a bummer for people who liked the higher resolution, it results in much lower energy consumption than before. Plus, the screen is 50% brighter than its predecessor (the Xperia 1 V). The battery life is another of the great improvements. In addition to the above, the 5,000mAh cell has new materials and construction that enable more density in less space. Sony also promises a “healthy battery” for up to 4 years. It claims that the Xperia 1 VI can offer more than double the battery life compared to the previous generation. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Sony has made an effort to boost gaming this time. So, for the first time, the company integrated a VC (vapor chamber) cooling system. There is also an FPS optimizer that significantly reduces frame drops. This results in sustained high performance for longer, with less heating. In turn, this is another key to improved battery life. For the camera section, the Sony Xperia 1 VI unboxing highlights its new zoom lens. There is a new 85 to 170mm sensor with a wide optical zoom range (3.5x–7.1x). It is also capable of taking macro photos up to 4cm away from the subject. Sony also revamped its camera app for a more intuitive experience. Now, all “Pro” modes (Photography, Videography, Cinematography) are available in one place. Sony has always been expert in audio and that is reflected in the Xperia 1 VI. The company is almost the only one to maintain a 3.5mm audio jack in premium smartphones, now offering 50% better separation between left and right channels. There are also technologies like DSEE Ultimate that “rescales” the audio quality of your streaming services to a Hi-Res level. Plus, 360 Reality Audio offers an immersive experience when listening to music, watching videos/movies, and playing games. The front stereo speaker system received new modules. There is now better bass reproduction and a larger soundstage for an even better experience. Lastly, the Sony Xperia 1 VI unboxing video highlights features like IP68 certification, a tool-less SIM port, and a MicroSD slot.Sony Xperia 1 VI video unboxing shows improvements in display, camera, performance, and more
