South African Radio Presenter ‘Penny Ntuli’ Sparks Outrage After Twerking on Highway

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC)  has condemned radio personality Penny Ntuli after a viral video showed her twerking on the side of a busy freeway, a stunt authorities have labeled dangerous and illegal.

The clip, which quickly spread across social media, captured the Jozi FM presenter and a friend dancing provocatively on a national road in full view of oncoming traffic. The RTMC said it was “shocked” by the reckless display, warning that such actions could easily cause accidents.

“Pedestrians are prohibited on freeways under the National Road Traffic Act, and such behavior is illegal,” the RTMC said in a statement. “Content creators should not risk their lives for likes.”

Authorities stressed that the incident highlights the growing risks posed by social media stunts on public roads, urging influencers to prioritize safety over viral fame.

Ntuli, who is well known for her bold personality on Jozi FM, has not yet commented on the backlash.

The controversy has reignited debate about influencer responsibility in South Africa, with many calling for stricter enforcement to deter life-threatening behavior on the country’s roads.
