Controversial musician, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has dismissed theft allegations against him by VeryDarkMan.
Naijaonpoint reports that the feud between the duo began after VeryDarkMan urged President Bola Tinubu to address the ongoing Benue killings and the country’s economic hardship.
Reacting to the development, the singer, in an Instagram video, told VeryDarkMan to stop calling out the President, stating that it was during Tinubu’s administration that VeryDarkMan started to live a luxurious lifestyle.
VeryDarkMan responded by leaking an old video of Portable being beaten for allegedly stealing a Keke in 2020 before he became famous.
On Wednesday morning, VeryDarkMan in a diss track taunted Portable for stealing a tricycle, chanting ‘Ole!’ (thief).
Replying to VeryDarkMan, Portable denied stealing the tricycle, and accused the social media critic of being “gay”.
“VeryDarkMan, your mother. You’re a poor person. Your father is a shoemaker. I take after my father. I’m not a thief. Stop calling me a thief,” he sang.
Meanwhile, Portable has clarified the events that led to accusations of phone theft between him and his former record label.
Naijaonpoint reports that Portable, in a statement via Instagram on Monday, July 21, 2025, disclosed that the owner of Destiny Records gave him a phone while he was with them, but he exited the label due to a lack of support, which was met with hostility.
During his time with Destiny Records, Portable was provided a phone by the label’s owner, Ija Omode, who currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Union of Road Transport in Ogun State. Due to the label’s lack of support, Portable decided to leave. However, this was met with hostility.
After his departure, individuals affiliated with the label forcibly retrieved the phone, bypassed its password, and went on to publicly humiliate Portable by stripping and falsely accusing him of theft. A video of this incident was later circulated online by Naijakit.

The ‘Zazu Zaeh’ crooner also said that those involved in the incident had privately contacted him but failed to correct the narrative publicly.
According to Portable, the former label’s behaviour was a clear case of intimidation and bullying, adding that the clarification was not for revenge, but to set the record straight and protect upcoming artists from similar treatment.
