Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed has told his commissioners and other cabinet members to forget about the 2027 elections for now and focus on doing their jobs.
He gave the admonition during the executive council meeting on Thursday, warning that time is running out and the administration still have many things to do for the people.
“This is not the time for politics. Let’s focus on helping the people,” he said.
The governor also asked his commissioners to bring project ideas and reminded them they can come to him if they need approval for any spending.
He said the government will soon move money to more important areas that need attention promising to keep working for the people until the end of his tenure.
Mohammed also thanked journalists who have been reporting on his government since 2019.
Before the meeting, he swore in 12 new government officials, including permanent secretaries and advisers. He told them to work hard and support the state’s development.
Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, who spoke for the new appointees, thanked the governor and promised they will do their best.
All the new officials are to start work immediately.
