Veteran actor Patrick Doyle has reacted to the advice billionaire businessman Femi Otedola gave his daughter Temi during her wedding to singer Tosin Ajibade popularly known as Mr Eazi.
Naijaonpoint reports that Otedola urged his daughter to respect her husband’s leadership in their new home and submit to his whims and caprices.
He also encouraged the couple to handle challenges privately without involving outsiders, adding that unity and discretion are key to a lasting relationship.
In a Facebook post, Doyle said that every parent has the right to guide their child in a manner that aligns with their personal values and life experiences.
He explained that Otedola’s remarks to his daughter were not aimed at making an impression on the public but were a private message delivered in the context of his role as a father.
Doyle stressed that moments like weddings are deeply personal for parents, and the words they choose reflect their journey, convictions, and hopes for their children’s future.
He added that each parent should be free to offer counsel in line with their own conscience and understanding.
He wrote: “Let everyone advice his or her daughter in accordance to the dictates of their individual conscience. I’m sure Femi wasn’t speaking to impress an audience but to his daughter within the scope of his personal life experience. That is all a father can do at moments like this.”
