‘Sue me over death threat allegations if you’ dare’—Natasha challenges Akpabio

Speaking in an interview yesterday, Akpoti-Uduaghan revealed she had received information indicating that Akpabio was planning to sue her.

“I hear the Senate President wants to take me to court. I say let him go ahead — we’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” she said.

Earlier on Tuesday, during a rally in Ihima, Kogi Central, the PDP lawmaker alleged that Akpabio had enlisted former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to execute a plot for her political recall and assassination.

According to her, Akpabio initially reached out to the current governor, Usman Ododo, who reportedly declined the request, citing her strong support base.

“When Ododo told him it wasn’t possible because the people were with me, Akpabio then turned to Yahaya Bello,” she alleged. “Senator Asuquo drove Yahaya Bello to the Hilton for the meeting. I was informed.”

She claimed the meeting had two agendas: to initiate her recall and to orchestrate her assassination — both allegedly to be bankrolled by Akpabio.

“Akpabio gave him money that day. First, to begin my recall. And second — to have me killed,” she said.

“He instructed that it must not happen in Abuja but here, so it would look like the people were responsible. I didn’t go public with this earlier, but we reported it to the police.”

When asked if she had concrete evidence to support the death threat allegation, she responded: “If you question the killing plot, then look at the recall attempt we just witnessed. We’ll address it all when the time comes.”
