The 2024/25 English Premier League season has seen several Nigerian players stand out as key figures in their clubs’ attacking threat, Soccernet.ng reports.

Players like Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Paul Onuachu, Joe Aribo, Ola Aina, and a host of others who are flying the colours of Nigeria in England continue to prove their worth.

Leading the Nigerian scoring chart in England is Alex Iwobi, who has enjoyed a productive campaign at Fulham FC, registering 8 goals in 31 appearances since the season began.

Operating in the midfield, the Super Eagles star has created more chances for Marco Silva’s men than any other players in the Cottager’s setup. This has made Iwobi Nigeria’s most reliable player in England’s top flight.

Closely following Iwobi in the chart is Nigerian towering striker Paul Onuachu, who, despite Southampton’s ups and downs, has netted 4 goals in 22 appearances.

This comes from a player from KRC Genk who has struggled in his debut season at Saint Mary’s Stadium. The Nigerian international has strengthened the Saints’ attack since Ivan Juric gave him a chance, but he has not performed well in the relegation zone.

Joe Aribo, who plays for Southampton as well, is in third place with three goals in 30 games this season. When necessary, the central midfielder has helped with attacks.

How Other Super Eagles Are Performing in the EPL

While they may not rank among the top three scorers, several other Nigerian stars in the Premier League have continued to make their presence felt.

At Fulham, Calvin Bassey has been a reliable figure in defence, featuring in 29 matches since his arrival in August 2023 and registering a goal to his name.

Over at Nottingham Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi has struggled with injury setbacks but still managed to score once in 23 appearances. Meanwhile, his teammate Ola Aina has scored twice in 30 outings and provided one assists.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi, has yet to score in 23 matches for Leicester City this season. Despite that, his consistent presence in midfield remains vital for the Foxes.
