Dessers claimed the first award of the night in recognition of his outstanding scoring record, despite enduring a spell of limited game time earlier in the campaign. The 29-year-old battled back to form and finished the season with an impressive tally of 24 goals across all competitions for the 1972 European Cup Winners’ Cup champions. In the Women’s category, Katie Wilkinson emerged as a double winner, claiming both the Players’ Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer awards after scoring a remarkable 39 goals. Elsewhere, Nico Raskin took home the Men’s Players’ Player of the Year and was also crowned Men’s Player of the Year. John Souttar was recognised with the John Greig CBE Achievement Award, while James Tavernier was honoured for making his 500th appearance in a Rangers shirt. Hamza Igamane also had a standout night, winning Men’s Young Player of the Year and Men’s Goal of the Season. Chelsea Cornet was awarded Women’s Goal of the Season for her strike in the 3-2 victory over Celtic.
