Napoli are in the transfer market for another striker this summer to ease the goalscoring load off Belgian forward, Romelu Lukaku…

Super Eagles and Atalanta forward, Ademola Olajade Lookman, has rejected an offer to join reigning Serie A Champions, Napoli, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old winger is set to exit Bergamo this summer, and has been linked with several clubs in Spain, England and Italy.

2025 UEFA Champions League finalists, Inter Milan, submitted a €40m offer for Lookman, alongside an annual salary of €4.5m, which could rise to €5m.

As per Inter News Italy, Napoli reached out to Lookman’s agents to discuss a potential move to the Armando Diego Maradona Stadium.

Their questions were met with a negative response, as it was revealed the former Leicester City man only has eyes for Inter Milan this summer.

Having already agreed a five-year contract with Inter Milan, the only thing delaying Lookman‘s move to the San Siro is an agreement with Atalanta, who are holding out for around €50m.

The Nerazzurri are ready to use the largest portion of their summer transfer budget on securing Lookman, although the Super Eagles star is currently nursing a calf injury.

Similarly, Diego Simeone’s side, Atletico Madrid, have also been shut down in their pursuit of the 2024 CAF Player of the Year, but they remain optimistic and are waiting for Inter to agree a deal with Atalanta before they submit another offer for Lookman.

In the meantime, Lookman will also push Atalanta to release him, while Napoli will look to complete Victor Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray in the coming weeks.

Antonio Conte’s side have also been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, but the Uruguayan is considered too expensive.
