Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze could be heading back to Spain as Real Sociedad weigh up a summer move for the unsettled AC Milan winger, Footynaija.com reports.

The 26-year-old joined Milan from Villarreal in 2023 with high expectations, but has failed to impress under three different managers. Despite returning to pre-season training under new boss Massimiliano Allegri, Chukwueze’s future at San Siro looks increasingly uncertain.

According to reports from Spain, Real Sociedad have identified the Super Eagles forward as a key target to bolster their attack ahead of the new La Liga season. The Basque club are rebuilding after a disappointing 11th-place finish and see Chukwueze’s pace and creativity as an ideal fit for their system.

Chukwueze, who previously spent five seasons at Villarreal, is valued at around €10 million—a fee Sociedad are reportedly willing to pay. The Nigerian is also attracting interest from Fulham, Mallorca, and a possible reunion with Villarreal, although none have made formal offers.

Despite his struggles in Serie A, Chukwueze has shown flashes of brilliance on the international stage.

Under new Super Eagles boss Eric Chelle, he has thrived in a more central role, registering a goal and an assist in recent wins over Ghana and Jamaica. His standout performance in the Unity Cup final suggests a player rediscovering form and confidence.

With AC Milan open to offers, a loan deal with an obligation to buy could be on the table. Sociedad are now expected to initiate contact with the player’s representatives as they look to finalise a move.

A return to La Liga may just be the fresh start Chukwueze needs to reignite a career that once promised so much.
