Eric Chelle will not have some Super Eagles regulars during the World Cup Qualifiers next month, and there are fears that another one could join the list…

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers is struggling with an ankle discomfort and will not be available for selection for Panathinaikos when they play Panetolikos today, Soccernet.ng reports.

Dessers, has been in fine form for Panathinaikos since joining from Scottish giants Rangers. The Super Eagles star has contributed two goals in four appearances for The Shamrock.

However, the 30-year-old striker might be up for a short spell on the sidelines. This is as Panathinaikos left him out of the traveling squad for their Greek Super League game against Panetolikos at the Panetolikos Stadium today.

Following that development, Greek outlet Pao Pantou revealed that Dessers was left out of the traveling team due to a discomfort in his ankle.

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is in a fix at the moment, as some important members of the team have been sustaining injuries and will likely miss the upcoming FIFA 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin in two weeks.

Ola Aina, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Raphael Onyedika have already been ruled out of those games due to varying injuries.

If Dessers is ruled out, it would surely give Chelle a selection headache, as the former Genk man has been called-up to camp in the last two international windows.

Nonetheless, Dessers’ injury is not too serious, so he should be back to action within a short period. But Chelle will surely be monitoring his situation.
