THE Super Eagles are once again embroiled in a pay row, as it has emerged from Morocco that the players are planning to boycott training and their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final clash with Algeria.
The three-time African champions have won all of their four matches in Morocco, but reports from the AFCON host country today claim the players and coaches have not received their bonuses for any of the fixtures.
In protest, the Super Eagles have given the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) until tonight to make the payments.
If the bonuses are not paid, the Super Eagles will not travel to the host city of Saturday’s quarter-final against Algeria, which is Marrakesh.
The Super Eagles are currently in Fez, where they have beaten Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda (in the group phase) and Mozambique (in the round of 16).
They are scheduled to take the about 500km journey from Fez to Marrakesh tomorrow and hold their first training session in the new base the same day.
The Super Eagles took the same course of action in November during the World Cup play-offs, also in Morocco, and boycotted training on the eve of their first match against Gabon.
The pay dispute was eventually settled after some missed training sessions, and the Super Eagles lost to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the play-offs final.
