The Super Falcons are searching for a 10th title, and their male counterparts, the Super Eagles are backing them

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has backed the Super Falcons ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria have just one more battle to win to claim a record-extending tenth WAFCON title. And this might just be the most challenging one yet.

They face hosts Morocco at Stade Olympique de Rabat in what promises to be an enthralling encounter.

Both teams have had impressive routes to the final, with Nigeria demolishing Zambia and seeing off South Africa in the knockout rounds.

Morocco have also been very impressive themselves under the tutelage of World Cup-winning coach Jorge Vilda. The Atlas Lionesses have shown great organization and technical capability.

Nonetheless, being nine-time champions of the WAFCON, the Super Falcons are slight favorites.

Meanwhile, ahead of the final, Justin Madugu’s women have gotten a lot of support from home.

Super Eagles skipper Troost-Ekong has also joined in. The former Udinese man backed his female counterparts to claim the victory over Morocco.

He replied to a post from Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade with, “Let’s go Skippo! Bring it home!”

Can the Super Falcons of Nigeria defeat Morocco?

The Super Falcons are up for a big fight against Morocco on Saturday. The Atlas Lionesses are hosts and will have the backing of the home fans.

Jorge Vilda’s team have also looked very good in the tournament. However, the Super Falcons are not pushovers.

They have shown that they can enter a higher gear when they need to. And throughout the tournament, they never looked like they were in danger of losing a game.

Morocco have leaked goals throughout this tournament, and that is something Nigeria can build on. If Justin Madugu’s ladies remain composed in front of the Morocco home fans and play as they have all through this tournament, they should be able to claim the victory.
