Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru is reportedly in advanced talks with French Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC, with a potential transfer looking increasingly likely ahead of the summer transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.

The 27-year-old, currently playing for Al Fayha in the Saudi Pro League, is seeking a fresh start in Europe, and his previous experience in Ligue 1 makes a return to France a realistic prospect.

From multiple reports, sources close to the player said Onyekuru has expressed his desire for more playing time after making just four appearances for Al Fayha this season.

Injuries have played a role in limiting his game time, prompting the Super Eagles winger to explore opportunities elsewhere.

His current contract with the Saudi club expires at the end of the season, and there has been no indication that the club intends to offer him an extension.

With Toulouse actively seeking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign, Onyekuru’s name has been placed on their radar as a potential summer signing.

This move to Toulouse would mark a return to Ligue 1 for Onyekuru, a league he previously featured in during a brief stint with AS Monaco.

His time in France was short but impactful, as he made eight appearances for Monaco. However, his spell in Ligue 1 was not without challenges, and he eventually moved on to other European clubs, including Olympiakos in Greece and then to Al Fayha in Saudi Arabia.

Toulouse, currently in mid-table in Ligue 1, are looking to bolster their squad with the goal of pushing higher up the standings in the coming season.

The club’s attacking options could be greatly enhanced by a player like Onyekuru, who is known for his pace and direct style of play. A return to France could also provide Onyekuru with a chance to reignite his career and regain his place in the Super Eagles squad, ahead of crucial qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

With the summer window fast approaching, it remains to be seen if the deal will come to fruition, but a fresh chapter in Ligue 1 could be just what the Nigerian international needs to revitalise his career and maintain his international aspirations.
