SUPER Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide has completed a transfer switch to AS Roma from Spain’s Tenerife, the Italian club confirmed today.
“AS Roma is pleased to announce the signing of Omorinsola Omowunmi Ajike Babajide, known as Rinsola Babajide,” the top flight club stated.
“The player has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until June 30, 2027.
“A winger, after playing for Liverpool and Brighton & Hove, Omorinsola arrived in Spain in 2022, playing for Real Betis, before moving to Tenerife the following season.
“From 2015 to 2019, Babajide represented England at youth level; in 2023, she decided to play for the Nigeria senior national team.
“Welcome to Rome, Omorinsola!”
Babajide, who was born in England, is currently with the Super Falcons in Morocco for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
She starred in the Super Falcons’ opening Group B clash against Tunisia, scoring one and assisting another in the 3-0 victory.
