Three Nigerian players — Victor Osimhen, Ibrahim Olawoyin, and Jonathan Okoronkwo — have been named in the WhoScored Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week after a weekend of standout performances, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen, on loan from Napoli, grabbed the headlines yet again by netting his 25th league goal of the season in Galatasaray’s commanding 3-0 win over Kayserispor.

The 26-year-old, who also helped Galatasaray win the Turkish Cup just days earlier, now holds the record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in a single Turkish top-flight campaign.

“I feel very happy. It is incredible to take part in Galatasaray’s history and reach the fifth star,” Osimhen told reporters after the title-sealing match.

“We will look to have fun in the final two matches. I am enjoying the moment at the moment. I am not thinking about my future.”

Joining him in the team of the week is Rizespor’s Ibrahim Olawoyin, who put in a scintillating display in his side’s thrilling 6-3 win over Göztepe.

The 26-year-old midfielder scored a stunning goal and delivered a pinpoint assist to help Rizespor confirm their Super Lig survival.

Hatayspor’s Jonathan Okoronkwo also delivered a performance to remember. Making his first-ever league start, the 21-year-old striker scored twice and registered an assist in a 5-0 demolition of Demirspor before being substituted in the 64th minute.

His outstanding contribution earned him a 9.60 match rating from WhoScored — the second-highest in the league this week. Olawoyin followed closely with an 8.99, while Osimhen earned an 8.61.

The Super Lig Team of the Week features Hatayspor’s 17-year-old goalkeeper Emir Daduk behind a defensive line of Yusuf Sari (Başakşehir), Mert Müldür (Fenerbahçe), Recep Yilmaz (Hatayspor) and Evren Eren Elmali (Galatasaray).

In midfield, Olawoyin is joined by Fenerbahçe’s Dusan Tadic, with Altin Zeqiri (Rizespor) and Bilal Boutobba (Hatayspor) providing width. Leading the line is an all-Nigerian frontline, with Osimhen and Okoronkwo forming a dynamic and clinical partnership.

Osimhen’s heroics continue to generate interest across Europe, though the striker insists he is staying focused on the final two matches of the season.

Meanwhile, Okoronkwo will hope for more opportunities to show his growing talent, and Olawoyin — with just one year left on his contract — may consider his future during the summer transfer window.
