DC Studios has finally released more footage from the Supergirl movie, featuring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El in the DC Universe. One of the big cameos in Superman this summer was the introduction of his cousin ahead of her big DCU Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” solo film.
With Supergirl as the next major theatrical release for the DCU franchise, DC Studios has unveiled a new teaser ahead of the upcoming trailer, which will be released on Thursday, December 11. Check out the new footage below:
DC Studios has also debuted the first Supergirl poster, showcasing Alcock’s DCU heroine, with the tag, “Truth. Justice. Whatever.” Check it out below:
Gunn announced on Sunday, December 7, that the world would be getting the Supergirl teaser trailer. This was also how they marketed Superman last year, sharing a teaser before the full teaser trailer.
Alcock will be the second actor in film history to headline her own Supergirl movie, as Helen Slater starred in one back in 1984, set in Christopher Reeve’s Superman universe. The 2026 film was directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.
The Supergirl movie is adapting Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic series, which ran for eight issues between 2021 and 2022. The critically acclaimed book was also nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Limited Series, and when Gunn announced the initial slate, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow immediately sold out.
Jason Momoa, who played Aquaman in the DCEU, is part of the Supergirl cast, as he will be playing DC’s famous bounty hunter, Lobo. Krypto, who made his debut in 2025’s Superman, will also be back in Alcock’s solo adventure.
Supergirl is set to release on June 26, 2026, with the full teaser trailer debuting on Thursday, December 11.
