Lagos lawmaker, Adewale Temitope Adedeji, on Monday, November 10, urged residents of Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu, saying the number one citizen is working to rebuild the country and needs sustained public backing.
Adedeji made the call while receiving the endorsement of traditional rulers, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains and community leaders for another term in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He linked part of his inspiration to lessons learned from President Tinubu.
“President Tinubu is working to see that Nigeria is great and we must continue to support him,” he added.
Naijaonpoint reports that Adedeji received the endorsement during the 5th edition of the lawmaker’s Widows Empowerment Initiative, held at his constituency office.
Community members said Adedeji had offered the kind of representation they had never experienced at the state legislature.
The APC chairman in Ifako-Ijaiye, Deacon Banjo Omole, praised the party for choosing Adedeji in past elections.
“Since we brought out Temitope, he has met our yearnings. Some others would have shifted away from their people, but that’s not Temitope,” Omole said, calling on residents to prepare their voter cards ahead of 2027.
The chairman of the Community Development Committee described Adedeji as someone whose work speaks for itself, saying the lawmaker had made visible contributions to the constituency.
Ifako-Ijaiye council leader, Adebo Samuel Kayode, echoed the sentiment.
“We have not regretted having Temitope Adedeji as our lawmaker. We can now see the result of our collective choice,” he said, noting that the clamour for a third term was already widespread among residents.
Oba-elect Matthew Ogundimu of Ogundimu Kingdom also commended the lawmaker’s efforts.
“His efforts in our lives have yielded great results. Let’s not mind politicians who may want to push other candidates against him,” the monarch said.
Responding to the endorsements, Adedeji said he remained committed to improving the lives of residents.
He said he wanted Ifako-Ijaiye to become the most educated local government area and its people the happiest in the country.
“We will continue to give back to the people that voted for us. Our intention is simple: we must continue to give succour to the people,” he stated.
