SWITZERLAND: Shettima arrives Davos for 2025 World Economic Forum

Accompanying him are senior government officials, including the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Aisha Rimi.

The WEF meeting convenes global leaders, business executives, and development partners to address critical global and national economic challenges and explore strategies for sustainable growth.

During the event, Vice President Shettima will engage in bilateral meetings and discussions to promote Nigeria’s economic prospects and address global risks.

One key event on his agenda is a workshop titled “Roadmap to Co-create Investment Opportunities for Africa’s Frontier Markets,” organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with the WEF.

This session will focus on boosting capital flows into Africa to support inclusive development and resilience.

Additionally, the Vice President will participate in the launch of the Humanitarian and Resilience Investing (HRI) Roadmap for Africa, aimed at fostering public-private partnerships and attracting investments to Africa’s emerging markets.

He will also co-chair a forum on “Turning Digital Trade into a Catalyst for Growth in Africa” at the Pischa Congress Centre.

This forum will explore how the private sector can accelerate the implementation of the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol, adopted by African Union leaders in January 2024, alongside other meetings.

Vice President Shettima is scheduled to return to Abuja after completing his engagements in Davos.
