Nicki Minaj’s appearance at the United Nations is sparking fierce backlash, and activist Tamika Mallory didn’t hold back.
After Minaj praised Donald Trump for “defending Christians” in Nigeria and publicly thanked him for making her feel a “deep sense of gratitude,” Mallory quickly called out the rapper’s alignment with the former president.
Mallory warned that Minaj “may not realize it yet,” but choosing to stand beside Trump comes with “consequences.” She argued that Trump’s sudden attention to Nigeria is not rooted in concern for safety or religious freedom, but in self-interest. She says his involvement could unleash a wave of exploitation, resource theft and political interference.
“What we know is that as he turns his attention to Nigeria, understanding his history, there will absolutely be exploitation,” Mallory said.

She suggested someone in Trump’s orbit “wants something from Nigeria” and that Minaj is unintentionally helping provide cover. She added that the people who benefit will not protect Minaj, adding, “They will throw Nicki Minaj to the wolves because they could care less.”

Mallory also offered a harsh warning about what she believes could follow: violence. “She will 100 percent see bloodshed,” she said, predicting that innocent Nigerians could be harmed or even killed and that Minaj will have to carry the weight of that moment indefinitely, saying the rapper will “forever be a stain associated” with Trump.
