Nollywood actor, Taye Arimoro has dragged actress and producer Peggy Ovire to court over an alleged assault on a movie set, demanding ₦100 million in damages and a public apology.

Naijaonpoint reports that the incident occurred on November 11, 2025, when Arimoro’s contract ended at 11:59 PM, but he claimed he was blocked from leaving the set.

Arimoro said his vehicle was first stopped by the production manager, and another car later blocked the exit.

Feeling unsafe, he began an Instagram Live to document what was happening.

The dispute escalated at the estate gate, where Ovire and her team allegedly confronted him.

He said his tyres were deflated, he was surrounded by several people, and he suffered injuries including a fractured jaw, bite marks, and bruises.

He also alleged that his phone was tampered with during the incident.

Arimoro’s lawyers stated that the events violated his rights to personal freedom, movement, and dignity, causing both emotional distress and financial loss.

They are seeking a public video apology on all of Ovire’s social media accounts alongside the ₦100 million compensation.

While Peggy Ovire was given seven days to respond, she has not made any public statement regarding the matter.

Arimoro captioned ...: “@peggyovire PRE-ACTION NOTICE. In light of the incident referenced in this correspondence, you have been served. Kindly forward all responses to my solicitors as indicated.”
