The Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering, Ogun State chapter, has outlined plans to expand digital skills training and innovation programmes under its newly elected chairman, Ogunwemimo Amos.

The association, in a statement on Sunday, said Amos would focus on capacity building, policy advocacy, and youth engagement to strengthen the engineering technologist community in the state.

NATE Ogun said Amos’ leadership would build on the foundation set by his predecessors while introducing initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and professional growth within the association.

“As the newly elected Chairman, Engr Ogunwemimo Amos brings a wealth of experience in the engineering sector, coupled with a passion for fostering innovation, professional growth, and collaboration within the technologist community in Ogun State.

With a career spanning over 16 years, Engr Amos has made notable contributions in Mechanical Engineering and has been at the forefront of various technological initiatives in the region,” the group said.

Amos, who was elected as NATE Ogun’s third chairman, said in his acceptance speech that he outlined his vision to strengthen the association’s role in shaping the future of engineering in the state.

He said his leadership would prioritise equipping members with advanced technical skills through workshops, conferences, and hands-on training.

The chairman added that the association would work closely with government bodies and private sector stakeholders to ensure technologists play a key role in policy discussions.

He also emphasised the need to engage young professionals and students, saying mentorship and inclusion in NATE activities would help secure the future of the profession.
