Tekashi 6ix9ine was once one of the most talked-about rappers in hip-hop media, but the rapper says that despite this, he still never received an invitation to one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ infamous “freak-offs” and that he even confronted him about it.

In a recent sitdown with DJ Vlad, the rapper revealed that he was housed alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, and former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández.

A 2024 NPR report noted that Combs, Hernández, and Bankman-Fried were among several well-known inmates at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, which has also held Martin Shkreli, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Fetty Wap.

Recalling their first meeting, 6ix9ine said Combs greeted him with a laugh. “The first thing he said to me, he laughed, he’s like, ‘Yo, that’s crazy how we met, right?’” the rapper remembered, adding that the two shared a hug.

6ix9ine joked that he used the moment to bring up something that had always puzzled him. “That’s when I said, ‘Yo, why you never invited me to any of your parties?’” he told Vlad. When asked whether he meant Combs’ infamous “freak offs,” the rapper confirmed, “Yeah, I’m like, ‘Yo, why you ain’t invite me?’”
