Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has begun another stretch behind bars, this time at one of the most infamous federal jails in the country.
The 29-year-old artist, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, reported Tuesday to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to serve a three-month sentence tied to violations of his supervised release. The rapper pulled up to the facility in a luxury van alongside internet personality Adin Ross, with a camera crew livestreaming as he turned himself in.

MDC Brooklyn is the only federal jail in New York City and has earned a grim reputation over the years. Some judges have declined to send defendants there, while others have described the facility as “hell on earth” due to ongoing violence and harsh conditions.
The rapper was sentenced in December after admitting to drug possession and an assault, violations stemming from a gang-related case.
Telashi 6ix9ine now joins a roster of high-profile detainees that reportedly includes Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Luigi Mangione, who has been charged in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Past inmates have included R. Kelly, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Ghislaine Maxwell.
