Former Inter Milan and Italy defender Giuseppe Bergomi is sceptical about Ademola Lookman’s potential move to the San Siro, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles star has been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri, although Atalanta are proving a hard nut to crack.

Lookman, on the other hand, is keen on a move to Inter, having already rejected Serie A winners Napoli, and is willing to take a pay cut to make his dream come true.

Bergomi spent his entire career with Inter Milan, winning the UEFA Europa League three times with the blue blacks, alongside several league and cup titles

While it is without a doubt that Lookman will be a valuable addition to the Inter Milan squad, the one-time FIFA World Cup winner maintains that Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez will remain undisputed starters.

What Bergomi said about Lookman

Lookman will definitely not want to be a squad player, and Bergomi went further to cast doubts on whether Lookman will be a bargain for Inter.

“Players who leave Atalanta have tended to struggle, but with that said, he could be a useful player,” the 61-year-old said in quotes revealed by FC Inter News.

“I hope he ends up in a Nerazzurri shirt, but then you have to change the system of play because you can’t leave out Lautaro or Thuram,” the former Inter Milan captain concluded.
