Venus Williams is celebrating newlywed life after quietly marrying actor Andrea Preti during a joyful five-day wedding celebration in Florida earlier this month.
Speaking to Vogue in an interview published Dec. 23, Williams opened up about the wedding festivities, which were lovingly organized with help from her sister Serena Williams.
“We started on Monday. Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, and she arranged all the food, everything,” Venus said. “We were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other.”
The celebrations continued with a boudoir-inspired bridal shower, a pool party, family dinners, and a sports-themed day before the couple tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony.
“I can’t describe how beautiful, calm, sacred, exciting, and exalting it was,” said Venus, who had previously married Preti privately in Italy in September.
Serena later shared a heartfelt tribute online, calling her sister “my built in best friend” and adding, “Seeing you this happy, this loved, this radiant… it means everything to me.”
The tennis legend, 45, recently reflected on the milestone while also marking a major professional comeback. In July, Williams became the second-oldest woman to win a tour-level singles match, an achievement she shared with Preti, watching from the stands at the Washington D.C. Open.
