Terrorists who abducted 10 residents of Isapa town, Kwara State, have reportedly issued a chilling one-week ultimatum to the community to pay ₦300 million or risk the execution of the captives.
Naijaonpoint understands that the victims were initially whisked away last Sunday. Despite days of negotiations, community insiders confirmed to Arise TV that none of the captives has been freed.
The kidnappers first slammed the town with a ₦500 million ransom demand before later trimming the figure to ₦300 million.
Sources within the town said the criminals warned that failure to meet the revised demand by the ultimatum’s end would ignite a fresh bloodbath.
The assault, they said, would be aimed at killing many more residents, while another violent incursion could follow, targeting additional families.
Addressing journalists on Thursday, the Chief Hunter of Isapa, A. Adeyeye, confirmed the latest ransom communication from the abductors.
He said the community pleaded with the criminals and offered ₦5 million, but the gunmen rejected it outright.
“Despite pleas from the community offering ₦5 million, the armed group rejected the offer, describing it as unacceptable and far below their expectations,” Adeyeye stated.
In a separate taunt, the abductors also bragged that they engineered the recent assault on a C&S Church community worship house last week, which led to the abduction of families from Ejiba, including a pastor, his wife and worshippers.
