Social media users are divided over a video of Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage kneeling to greet her former boss, Don Jazzy.

In the viral clip, the award-winning singer was captured entering a venue when she spotted the Mavins boss, walked up to him, and knelt to greet him. Don Jazzy, taken aback by her sweet gesture, told her to stand up as they exchanged hugs and pleasantries.

While some praised Tiwa for her humility, others criticised her.

Recall that in 2019, after signing a global recording deal with Universal Music Group (UMG), an American global music corporation, Tiwa quit Don Jazzy’s record label after almost 8 years with him.

Following her exit, Don Jazzy took to Instagram to applaud her achievements and all she had contributed to the record label during her tenure. He assured her that Mavin will always be solidly behind her and wished her success in her new phase.

Responding to him, the mother of one made it known that it wasn’t easy for her to leave the team, but she had to because she wanted to still make him proud. She described him as an amazing person and pleaded with the producer not to reduce his level of love and attention towards her, promising that she would always hold him in high esteem.

Not done, Tiwa wrote an emotional note to him, recounting how he treated her while she was pregnant. She noted that there was nothing he would hear about her that would make him mad, and no headline was too controversial for him to handle.

During an episode of the Loose Talk podcast, Jazzy said Tiwa was one of the best he had ever worked with. He made it clear that, despite her exit, he would remain her business partner and she would continue to receive royalties from him for the rest of her life.
