“The emergency C-section, sleepless nights and bleeding were worth it” – Adesua Etomi reminisces on her bittersweet journey to motherhood

Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi is reminiscing on her painful journey to motherhood in celebration of Mother’s Day.

In an Instagram post, she revealed that she took time to think about her journey to motherhood, which wasn’t easy, but when she looked at her boys, it was worth it.

She recalled the emergency C-section, sleepless nights, the tough healing process, birth constipation, endless bleeding, cracked nipples and more, which she endured. Adesua stated that despite the pains and challenges, she will do it again for her sons and will do anything for them.

“Today, I’m taking the time to think about my journey to motherhood. It wasn’t a straight road, but when I look at my boys, it is well worth it. The tough pregnancy journey, to the complications, to the injections, to the emergency c-section, to the sleepless nights, to the tough healing process, to ...-birth constipation, to the expressing endlessly, to bleeding and cracked nipples, to showing up and being present even when ill, to round-the-clock shifts, to the joy, to the indescribable love, to the triumph, to the laughter, to the beautiful moments. I’ll do it all again for these boys. I will literally do anything for them.
To all the mothers who are mothering, we are the closest thing to magic.

In October, Adesua and Banky W had announced that they were expecting their second child. In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared Adesua’s maternity photos as they noted how they first had each other, then they had a son, and were expecting another.

The singer later revealed that he and Adesua had welcomed their second child, a baby boy. He made this known as he shared a video of him cooking and taking care of his family. Banky stated that marriage is 100-100 and not 50-50.

While reacting to the story of a woman who killed herself after battling hyperemesis gravidarum, Etomi expressed her frustration over people not understanding how serious the condition is. She appreciated her husband, doctors, family, and friends for rallying around her.

Also, while celebrating her birthday in February, Adesua recalled the trials she faced in 2024. She recounted how she battled hyperemesis, was admitted to the hospital, her husband underwent cancerous tumor surgery, and she had an emergency C-section. After surviving the aforementioned, Adesua said the devil once again with her life as she had a harrowing healing process, but God saw her true.

Late last year, Banky W and Adesua had celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary. Banky shared a video of him and his wife over the years, as he appreciated Adesua for choosing him as he recalled how nervous he was to be a father and husband.

Adesua, on her part, kept things short and simple as she reaffirmed her love for Banky.
