Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate, Beauty Tukura, has revealed how she battled depression after being disqualified from the reality show in 2022.
Naijaonpoint reports that the reality TV star made the revelation while speaking on the Beyond With Ezinne podcast, where she reflected on the emotional challenges that followed her eviction.
The former Miss Nigeria explained that the intense criticism she faced from the public deeply affected her mental health, leaving her in a dark place.
The Taraba-born lawyer said she felt ashamed and unable to face her parents after her disqualification.
However, she said that their constant love and encouragement helped her gradually find the strength and healing she needed.
The ex-beauty queen admitted that she struggled with daily tears and suicidal thoughts before deciding to focus on the support and kind words from fans who stood by her.
She described the experience as the lowest point of her life but added that it taught her resilience and self-awareness.
She said, “The heat was too much, and personally, I felt like nothing I said was going to make sense because all they wanted to do was crucify me like Jesus. It was very hard.
“I was too ashamed to see them. I didn’t know how to face them. I was in a very bad place.
“I cried every day. I was thinking of ending it. I actually almost committed suicide.
“I decided to focus on the love. Since then, I’ve always focused on the positive messages.
“That was the lowest point of my life, and I’ve decided it will stay that way. There’s no room for such mistakes anymore.”
Her disqualification came during the Level Up edition of BBNaija in August 2022 after she received two strikes for violent behaviour towards fellow housemates Ilebaye and Groovy.
