The announcement of the ‘bonus level’ took place at New York Comic Con 2025 during the “Jim Lee & Friends” panel, where Absolute Batman writer and DC K.O. architect Scott Snyder revealed that the IPs participating in the bonus matches will be Sub-Zero from the Mortal Kombat franchise, Annabelle from The Conjuring, Red Sonja, Vampirella, Samantha from Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, and The Boys’ Homelander.
On November 8, 2025, the reveal was updated when Snyder sat down with CBR for a discussion later posted on YouTube as Batman Rebuilt: Scott Snyder on Fear, Friends & Gotham | Heroes Journey EP 5. During the episode, Snyder confirmed several upcoming bonus matches that fans can look forward to, giving them a clearer picture of the chaotic battles to come.
In addition to confirming Superman versus Homelander, Snyder revealed that Joker will face off against Annabelle. This marks one of the wildest crossovers DC has ever executed and is certain to spark curiosity among fans eager to see how a showdown between the Clown Prince of Crime and a haunted doll will play out.

Unlike Joker, Annabelle has actual supernatural abilities thanks to the demonic entity possessing her. She is known for her ability to manipulate objects through telekinesis, her enhanced durability, and her ability to temporarily possess others. Possessing Joker might just be her avenue to winning the match and forever scarring readers’ psyches.
