“The leader of the swag nation” – May Edochie prays for Junior Pope’s family as she marks his one-year remembrance

May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has marked the one-year remembrance of the late actor Junior Pope.

Taking to her Instagram page, she noted how she hadn’t had some of his favourite words about his family for over a year. She prayed that he would continue to rest in peace and that God would continue to protect his family.

She noted how tough it is for a husband and wīfe to raise a family, let alone a single parent. In a message to his wife, she stated that God remains her strength and prayed that He inspires her to resume her business.

As you continue to rest in peace, may the good Lord continue to protect this beautiful family that you left behind.

Refreshing your memory, Junior Pope and others lost their lives after drowning at Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie set produced by Adanma Luke on April 8th. Luke had received tons of backlash for not providing the actors with safety procedures, which led to their deaths.

Since his death, May has been showing support to his widow wife. She had shared photos of her condolence visit to his widow as she sent encouraging words to her and expressed hope that someday, Jennifer would have reasons to smile again.

On his posthumous birthday, May shared his last messages as she penned an emotional note to his wife. She noted how posthumous birthdays could refresh all the sad memories. However, she admonished her to see it as his heavenly birthday. She went on to describe his death as agonising as she threw several questions at him.

Also, on what would have been his 10th wedding anniversary in July last year, May noted how there would have been a celebration, a splash of dope images, and many things to mark the decade. Urging Jennifer to stay strong, she assured her that the Lord God would take charge of her and always be there for her.
