The Mandalorian and Grogu finds Star Wars‘ next replacement for Mos Eisley’s iconic cantina in a new image from the upcoming 2026 movie.
Via Empire, the new image from The Mandalorian and Grogu was revealed, showing the two titular characters in a lively cantina setting with warm lighting, ornate bottles, and other sci-fi decor. Check out the image below:
The original Star Wars movie features a famous scene in which Luke, Obi-Wan, Han Solo, and Chewbacca visit a cantina in Mos Eisley filled with various alien creatures, an iconic scene that has been recreated and referenced several times in Star Wars, including a similar scene in The Last Jedi on Canto Bight, a city filled with diverse aliens and a casino.
Directed by Jon Favreau, who co-wrote the script with Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian and Grogu follows Din Djarin and his apprentice, following the fall of the Galactic Empire, as the New Republic recruits them to hunt down scattered Imperial warlords who continue to endanger the galaxy.
In addition to Pedro Pascal reprising his role, The Mandalorian and Grogu cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward, Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, Jonny Coyne as an Imperial Warlord, and Zeb Orrelios, the fan-favorite Lasat from Star Wars Rebels who briefly appeared in The Mandalorian season 3.
Talking to Empire, Jon Favreau teased Din Djarin joining forces with the former Rebels at Adelphi Base and taking on a bigger mission than ever before, including working for Sigourney Weaver’s Colonel Ward and with Zeb Orrelios. The Mandalorian has changed his priorities. One of the last things we say [in Season 3] is, like, “I don’t want to go out there and just be a hired gun. I want to work for the good guys.”
Now we get to really have fun with [Zeb Orrelios]. He’s such a compelling character, even if you’ve never seen Rebels, between the voice, the swagger, and the physical ability.
That central relationship, as they go off and face adventure together, that’s the underpinning of the film. Star Wars is always about progression and growth and characters evolving, sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. It’s about apprenticeship, it’s about one generation teaching the next. There’s more growth that happens over the course of the film.
The Mandalorian and Grogu releases in theaters on May 22, 2026.
