Nigerian former dance hall singer, Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has made an observation about Benin and Yoruba superiority.
In an Instagram story, she revealed that she always finds it funny that Benin and the Yoruba struggle for power and superiority.
Morgan said she learnt that Benin people got connected via marriage to the Yorubas, which resulted in the birth of Oromiyan, the first Oba of Benin, who fathered Eweka. She mentioned how Oduduwa, an exiled prince from Benin, found favour in the eyes of the Yoruba people.
“The power for superiority between Benin and the Yoruba people will always be funny to me.
According to what I have read, we connected via marriage, which resulted in the birth of Oromiyan, aka Omonoyan, the first Oba of Benin, who fathered Eweka, the first.
Some say Oromiyan was Oduduwa’s last son, while others say he was his grandson. Whatever the case, Oduduwa was an exiled prince from Benin who found favour with the Yoruba people.
Prior to this, the Benins and Yorubas existed in their own demography, respectively. But through Oromiyan, we became cousins”.
Some weeks back, Morgan showed support for the President, stating that he isn’t the most terrible president Nigeria has ever had. She, however, noted that it isn’t too late for the president to do something about subsidy removal.
Last year, the former dance-hall singer, had slammed music star, Davido for weighing into Edo State’s gubernatorial election. She noted how he claims his mother is from Edo State, yet she has never seen him visit his family house, nor as he mentioned the village or family his mother is from. She begged him to leave Edo people alone and made him know that he wasn’t from Edo, and neither did he know the struggle of an average Edo man or woman.
In different news, Cynthia had made an observation about the social media platform, Facebook. She stated that Facebook is filled with different witches and wizards prophesying rubbish. The singer noted how the Grace of Jesus Christ was being taken for granted as she added that in the end His name will be praised.
In a different post, she had kicked against cultism and cult killings. She stated that she doesn’t know how realistic it is to say NO to cultism; however, we should say NO to cult killings.
